Grading

Our level grading follows the Fontainebleau Grading System. The levels in Fontainebleau (“Fb”) increase in difficulty from 1 to 8. Each of the grades is subdivided into a, b, c (also in increasing order of difficulty), and may have a “+” added, indicating a slightly higher level. An example of a grade would be: “6b+”.

At Fontainebleau each color represents a range of grades. For example, black is used for the most difficult blocks. For this reason, at FLASHH we mark blocks between 8a and 8c+ in black. The other colors also represent a range of difficulty, such as blue indicating blocks from 6a to 6c+ . You can check the range that each color represents in the table above.
